Subby support
Essential answers for setting up, protecting and moving your recurring items.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my data stored?
Inside Subby’s local container on your iPhone. Subby does not use accounts or a proprietary cloud.
Why does a yearly subscription appear in the monthly total?
Subby shows the true monthly share: yearly costs are divided by 12, quarterly costs by 3, and weekly costs are converted using 52 weeks per year.
How do I create a backup?
Open Profile, go to Import and export, choose Export backup, then select Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop or another destination from the iOS share sheet.
How do I restore data after reinstalling?
Open Profile, choose Import backup and select the XML file you previously exported. Import creates a separate profile and does not overwrite existing profiles.
What happens if I delete the app without a backup?
Uninstalling removes the app’s local container. Without an exported file, Subby cannot recover that data.
How do I enable reminders?
Open the Notifications section in Profile, enable reminders and choose the lead time. If prompted, allow Subby notifications in iOS, including badge permission.
The app icon badge isn't showing up, what do I do?
If you had already granted notification permission before updating the app, open Profile > Notifications: if the badge is off you'll see a warning with a button that opens Settings directly so you can turn it on manually.
How do widgets work?
Long-press the Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, search for Subby and pick a size to see your next renewal without opening the app.
What is the 12-month forecast?
From Home, tap the "12-month forecast" card to see the real total of upcoming renewals month by month, useful for planning ahead.
Can installments have an end?
Yes. When adding or editing an installment, the Duration section lets you pick an end date or a number of installments: the app calculates the last due date automatically and the installment stops appearing after that.
What is the savings goal for?
From Profile you can set a name and a target amount. Progress (percentage of your remaining budget reached) shows on the Profile row and in the Summary; you can delete it anytime from the Goal sheet.
How do I change the language?
Open iOS Settings, find Subby and select Language. Italian and English are available; unsupported languages fall back to English.
Can I use multiple profiles?
Yes. You can create separate local profiles, select the active one and keep each profile’s recurring items separate.
Email info@bonato.it with your iOS version, iPhone model, Subby version and build, and steps to reproduce the issue. Do not attach an XML backup if it contains information you do not wish to share.
