Privacy in Subby

This policy explains how Subby for iOS handles information across the versions published on the App Store. The app is provided by Pierantonio Bonato, who can be contacted at info@bonato.it.

At a glance

Subby requires no account, operates no backend server and does not send the provider the profiles, amounts or due dates you enter. Operational data stays inside the app’s local container on your device.

Information handled by the app

Subby lets you enter profile names, an optional email address, income, budgets, goals, service names, amounts, categories, billing cycles, dates, notes and reminder preferences. This information:

• is stored locally using iOS storage technologies;
• is not transmitted to a Subby backend;
• is not used for advertising, profiling or tracking;
• is not sold or shared by the provider with third parties.

Backups and sharing

When you export a backup, Subby creates an XML file containing the active profile and its items. The file is handed to the iOS share sheet. You choose the destination, such as Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop or Mail. Processing after that point is governed by the service you select and its terms.

Notifications

Renewal reminders are optional. If enabled, Subby asks for permission to send notifications and schedules local alerts on your device. You can change or revoke permission in iOS Settings.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

From version 1.2, Subby shows a non-personalized ad banner at the bottom of the Home, Recurring and Calendar screens, served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited). From version 1.4, a full-screen, also non-personalized interstitial ad from Google AdMob may also appear once per session, the first time you open the Profile screen. Neither ad format uses your Advertising Identifier (IDFA): Subby never requests Apple's tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency) and does not receive information about your activity in other apps or websites.

To serve the ad, Google still processes some technical data (such as an approximate IP address, device type, identifiers not linked to personalized advertising) under Google's privacy policy and its terms for ad partners. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you are shown an IAB TCF-compliant consent form on first use, managed through Google's User Messaging Platform; you can review or change your choice at any time from "Ad privacy choices" in the App Info screen (the "i" icon).

None of the information you enter in Subby — profiles, amounts, categories, due dates — is shared with Google or other ad providers: the AdMob SDK has no access to the app's archive. Apple may also provide the provider with aggregate App Store statistics and diagnostics according to the sharing preferences on your device and Apple's own privacy policy; Subby does not connect this information to the financial details you enter.

The app also uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated usage data, such as app opens, profile creation, adding a subscription or an instalment, app language, and basic device and app-version information. This data helps us understand feature usage and improve the product and monetization. Subscription names, amounts, categories, and other financial details you enter are never sent to Firebase Analytics.

Retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall Subby. Exported backups remain in the destinations you selected and must be removed from those services separately.

Children

Subby is a general tool for organizing recurring costs and is not designed to knowingly collect children’s personal information. The app creates no account and receives no information directly from users.

Your rights and control

Because the provider does not receive the archive created in the app, access, correction, export and deletion take place directly on your device. For questions about this policy or support information you voluntarily send by email, contact the provider.

This policy will be updated before further features that change data handling are introduced. The date above identifies the current revision.
